Meal Plans

Union Market offers several meal plan options for the 2018–2019 school term. Any plan selected by the student may be accessed with the student’s college ID card and each plan offers purchase discounts and may be used at Union Market (the college’s main dining facility) or at Cooper’s Corner (the snack shop). Students enrolled in summer session classes or working at Union College during the summer session may continue to receive discounted meals but must make arrangements with their student financial advisor before the end of the winter semester.

Meal plans and your budget

The Residence Hall Declining Balance (DB) Plan (40% discount) is required for students in the residence hall unless they qualify for the "Residence Hall 22 Plus Plan." There are three different levels: Economy, Intermediate, or Deluxe. The minimum cost per semester is $1,525. Of this amount, $1,025 is a declining balance account available for food purchases; this entitles the student to a 40% discount off retail prices. The remaining $500 is a mandatory dining service operational fee.

Students are encouraged to review meal plan cost estimates with their Financial Aid Advisor. Declining balance (DB) estimates may be adjusted by selecting one of the following plans:

  1. Economy: $3,050.00 per year
  2. Intermediate: $3,450.00 per year
  3. Deluxe: $3,850.00 per year

If a student chooses a plan higher than Economy, but does not use their whole budget they will get the remaining balance refunded.
