Cost? $3,590 (financial aid eligible)

Choose from two out of three topics offered with a Central American country as your classroom and lab: 

  • Travel Literature (LITR 240/440)
  • Travel Photography (PHOT 250/450)
  • Environmental Science / Epidemiology (BIOL 109/476)

Students may take lower-division credits (100 or 200 level) to fulfill general education requirements or upper-division (400 level) credits meeting major requirements for art, biomedical science, elementary education, or English.

C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien Tour

Where? United Kingdom
When? May 18-June 1, 2023

Eligibility? Any students

Students taking RELT 355 (Imagination, Theology, and History) will explore the role of imagination in theology as evidenced in the works of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as tour historic locations in England and Wales that influenced their works. Special attention will be given to creatively communicating faith and apologetic principles.

This course count towards religion general education requirements as well as requirements for theology and religion majors.

Global Health Nursing

Where? Iquitos, Peru
When? March 9-20, 2023

Eligibility? Nursing majors
Cost? $3200

NURS 391 introduces future nurses to principles and practices of healthcare on the frontiers of developing countries. Students spend spring break as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient-centered care with cultural humility in a global community. The course has limited enrollment and an additional fee for field experience. Read about the 2022 trip here.

First year PA master's students have the opportunity to attend a mission trip and begin putting to use what they learned in their first year of graduate studies while serving the underserved.
