Contemporary Christian band Shane & Shane will lead a worship concert for Union’s Family Worship on Friday, March 6, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.
Based in Texas, the group is known for acoustic praise and worship music. Shane Bernard and Shane Everett began playing together while both were students at Texas A&M University.
The duo released its debut album Psalms in 2002, followed by Carry Away, Upstairs and Clean over the next two years. The group has released a total of 11 albums, including their latest, Psalms II in 2015.
In addition to creating music, the duo has found a calling in mentoring other musicians. “Just making music and playing concerts, I know that there’s a small aspect of discipleship involved in that,” Shane Barnard said on the group’s website. “But we want to encourage people to go to the Fountain, enjoy the Fountain, drink from the Fountain. That’s the ethos of The Worship Initiative. Not just training in songwriting and musicianship.”
In 2015, Shane & Shane launched the Worship Initiative, an online community and resource for all things worship. According to their website, the initiative is “a one-stop shop for training, a hothouse environment where all—musicians, worship leaders, budding songwriters—can grow and flourish in their craft and creativity and devotion to the Lord.”
The concert is free and open to the public. Learn more about Shane & Shane at shaneandshane.com
