Health sciences curriculum

Although most PA Program applicants have completed their four-year degrees before entering the PA Program, the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree allows exceptional Union College students to complete the general education requirements of Union College along with the PA Program prerequisites in three years.

After completing the second year of this curriculum, students may apply for the PA Program. A BSHS student graduates with a bachelor's degree after finishing the first year of the PA Program. Two years later, the master's degree will be completed.

It should be noted that the BSHS track does not guarantee acceptance into the PA Program; students must apply and be accepted as all other applicants.

Students may apply to be a part of the BSHS track after they have completed ENG 110 Writing for General Audiences, ENG 212 Writing for Scholarly Audiences, and General Chemistry I and II, having earned at least a B in each course and having cumulative and science GPAs of at least 3.50 in all college work.

This sample guide is intended only to show you how a program might be arranged. Course schedules may change. Please work closely with the BSHS advisor in the PA Program.
