Job Description:

I teach Medical-Surgical II Nursing and all labs and simulations as well as clinicals at the hospital. It is so rewarding to work with students.

Professional Background:

I began my nursing career at Loma Linda University Medical Center in the pediatric intensive care unit. I transitioned from the PICU to the cardiovascular intensive care unit where I specialized in post-open heart surgery for pediatric and adult patients. I was blessed to work with Dr. Leonard Bailey, pediatric heart surgeon pioneer. I worked in various ICU's for 18 years in California and Nebraska. I then moved to Lincoln Surgical Hospital specializing in outpatient surgery. I was the outpatient director for 5 years before transitioning to education. I have been blessed to work at Union College in the nursing division since fall of 2014. I am currently working on my Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Lifestyle Medicine through Southern Adventist University.

Personal Information:

I enjoy traveling, hiking, the mountains, ocean, and exercise. I love the Grand Canyon and hiked the rim to rim. I have run 4 marathons and ran the Boston Marathon in 2018. I am passionate about wellness and healthy eating. I love spending time with my family.

Children:

Alex, 30, a home health physical therapist in Denver, Lindsay, 27, an outpatient physical therapist in Orlando, and Jared, 24, a paramedic in Denver.
Spouse:

My husband is Scott. He is a Physical Therapist at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.
