I joined the Union College Nursing Faculty in 2019 and will be teaching Medical Surgical 1 theory and clinical.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Union College in 2002. I am currently working towards completion of my Masters of Science in Nursing.
I started my Nursing career at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in the Emergency Department. I have worked in most acute care settings including Emergency, Intensive Care, Progressive / Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, Interventional Radiology, and Pre and Post Anesthesia Care. I have also worked Urgent Care in the outpatient setting. Most recently I worked as a Quality Analyst for the Comprehensive Stroke Program at Saint Lukes Hospital of Kansas City. I have lecutred on Quality Stroke care at the BiState Stroke Consortium of Kansas City. I am an Advanced Stroke Life Support Instructor through the University of Miami Gordon Center. I maintain my Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support Certifications.
I married my husband in 2003 and we have 2 children. My son is in the 8th grade and my daughter is a 5th grader. We enjoy time together as a family taking bike rides, reading, watching movies, and listening to music.
