I grew up in Kirksville, Missouri, where my parents still live. My junior and senior years of high school I attended Sunnydale Adventist Academy, where I met my future husband, Dr. Frankie Rose. We both attended Union College, graduating in May 2002. After getting married that summer, we moved to back to my hometown in Missouri. I worked on a surgical acute unit for three years before moving to Columbia, Missouri, where I worked on an outpatient surgery unit for a year. I then transitioned to a clinical research position within the School of Medicine, Division of General Surgery. As a clinical research coordinator, I worked primarily on bariatric surgery research. In August 2010, my husband and I moved back to Lincoln, and I worked on the inpatient unit at Lincoln Surgical Hospital before joining the Division of Nursing in January 2012.
My husband and I have three beautiful children, Emma (born 2011), Ethan (born 2013), and Evan (born 2016).
