“I always told myself that I wanted to come back to work for Union because my college experience was so great.”
2017 graduate Ysabella “Ysa” Dieguez has returned to Union as our new Director of Records and Registrar. She graduated with a psychology degree in 2017 and has since worked as a manager in healthcare. She most recently served as area director for Broadstep Behavioral Health, an organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities. She said, “When I saw this opportunity in the records office open up, I thought, ‘This is where the Lord wants me to be and how I can reconnect with Union.’”
Originally from California, Dieguez moved to Lincoln in 2018. She lives with her husband, David, who she married last August. “We have three dogs: one German shepherd, one goldendoodle — he’s our puppy — and a Chihuahua,” she said. “We love spending time with our dogs. We’re also huge fans of Disney. Belle will always be my absolute favorite Disney character because of my name.” In her free time, Dieguez enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, and all things pink.
Dieguez said, “I love being able to advocate for people who aren’t necessarily able to properly advocate for themselves, especially when they don’t know when or what to advocate for. I’ve always been drawn to that. Now in my new position, working with records and transcripts can be confusing for students, especially if they don’t know much about them. I’m looking forward to being able to advocate for students here at Union.”
