Kate Kamarad has signed on as Union’s new scholarship giving and events director. Kate taught for the Rocky Mountain Conference for eleven years, most recently at Mile High Academy in Colorado as a kindergarten and preschool teacher. Moving to Nebraska is an adjustment from the arid foothills of the mountains, but she’s happy to be at Union in the Advancement Office. “Working here is like a little family. I look forward to coming to work every morning.”
Kate is taking over the office from which Stephanie Meyer retired. “I’ve been asking a lot of questions just to get familiar with my position and what needs to be done. The office crew here has been an awesome help, and Stephanie has been, too.”
Both of Kate’s daughters came to Union to study. Delanie is a sophomore pre-PA student, and the eldest, Madison, recently graduated from the International Rescue and Relief program. “Being a single parent was pretty tough. But I’ve seen what Christian education can do. Maddy found a place here at Union where she built amazing friendships, explored travel opportunities, and met the love of her life.
“My girls just love the campus and that family feel. Now I get to be part of the family, and I’m excited to see where I can jump in and be part of something bigger.”
