Known for having mustache almost as big as his heart, Jose Rojas has devoted his life to engaging youth and young adults in ministry. In his current role as president of MOVEmentum, Rojas is passing along his expertise in leadership to a new generation.
Many Seventh-day Adventists first came to know and love Rojas when he served as director of youth and young adult ministries for the North American Division from 1994 to 2000. He left that role when he was selected as director of volunteer ministries for the world-wide Adventist church. For twelve years, he oversaw programs that connect Adventist volunteers with opportunities for service in communities around the globe.
Rojas has never limited his ministry to the church. From 1996 to 2000, he advised the White House on humanitarian initiatives, and he served with General Colin Powell to launch America’s Promise: The Alliance for Youth, which has led to large-scale participation of volunteers serving at-risk youth in their local communities since 1997.
Similarly, MOVEmentum seeks to share Rojas’ values both in and out of religious contexts. In addition to his speaking and training engagements with Adventist organizations, Rojas also consults and trains corporate and governmental groups.
From Nov. 14-16, there are four opportunities to hear this powerful and inspiring speaker at Union College, starting with uGather on Thursday morning. All events are free and open to the public.
